Exciting news for coffee lovers! The Australian Coffee Championships have been the talk of the town this 2023 season, with rumours flying about whether they would even take place in time for the World Barista Championship in Athens. But fear not; thanks to the hard work of the Australian Specialty Coffee Association, the championships are a go, much to the relief of baristas across the nation.
From May 8th to 12th, the best baristas in Australia will be battling it out at The Industrque in Coburg North to represent Australia on the world stage. With Anthony Douglas winning the World Barista Championship in 2022, the pressure is on for this year's contenders to step up to the plate and make their mark.
If you're lucky enough to be in the Melbourne area, make sure you head down and show your support for your favourite baristas. It will surely be a thrilling competition you won't want to miss! And for those who can't make it in person, don't worry - the Australian Specialty Coffee Association will be live-streaming the event for your viewing pleasure.
