Quality Report - Kenya Kieni AB Washed
About This Coffee
Kieni Factory is a part of the Mugaga Farmers Cooperative Society, which comprises Kagumo-ini, Gatina, Kieni, Kiamabara, and Gathugu Factories. The Kieni Factory has around 1,000 members who also cultivate tea and bananas.
This coffee is undoubtedly one of the best from Kenya this season. It has an exceptional acidity and an intense fruity aroma. The cherries are hand-picked by local farmers and sent to the Kieni wash, where they undergo sorting and processing. Following this, the cherries are crushed, wet-fermented for 12-16 hours to remove the mucilage, and then washed. After washing, the coffee is dried on raised beds and sent for sorting by size by removing the parchment at the dry mill.
