About This Coffee
This coffee comes from the area around the town of Buesaco in Eastern Nariño, Colombia. It was produced by six smallholder farmers who own small farms of about 1.5 hectares in size. They grow coffee at an elevation of 1,800 – 2,200m above sea level, surrounded by incredible native vegetation. The town of Buesaco is a beautiful example of Nariño’s stunning landscape.
However, Buesaco has a troubled past. In the 1990s and early 2000s, violence and civil unrest hit the region hard, with much of it under the control of the FARC guerrillas. The high elevations and rugged terrain of rural Nariño made it ideal for growing opium poppy plants and coca, making it the perfect centre of operations for illegal groups and preventing a heavy government presence. The guerrillas were forced out of Buesaco in the 2010s, which catalyzed the transformation of the town into one of Colombia’s best-regarded coffee-growing regions.
Since coffee production resumed, many coffees grown here have performed exceptionally well in Colombia’s Cup of Excellence competition. This has demonstrated to many growers that coffee from this region has the potential to be sold as specialty lots to the international market, warranting greater premiums than they were receiving through other certification schemes.

NORMCORE STYLE SUPER LIGHT ROASTING
We roast our single-origin coffees as lightly as possible. It's often lighter than the standard light-roast profile (Our development time ratio is 8-10%, while a typical light roast's ratio is around 13-16%).
Regardless of its origin, varietal or process, our approach is to maximise the flavour profile of the coffee by minimising flavours caused by roasting. Our single-origin coffees have a delightful silky texture and well-balanced taste, despite being lightly roasted.
DAMN GOOD COFFEE ONLY.
